Good Service

Credit where credit's due...

The street light directly outside our house had been out for a while, so reported it to Clackmannanshire Council through their online reporting service - Clarence .

This was done at 10pm Monday night and by Wednesday (might have even been Tuesday, just didn't register 'til Wednesday) it was back on all nice and bright again.

With summer (hopefully!) on the way soon us parents will be pleased to get the kids from under our feet and out playing in the street burning up all that excess energy usually reserved for running us parents ragged. During the past 4 or 5 summers I've watched with dismay as residents and their visitors attempt to beat the land speed record in the few short yards from turning into the cul de sac and reaching their driveway. Can I make an appeal to my fellow residents, many of those who are guilty of this having children of their own, to keep their foot off the accelerator once they're in the cul de sac. there isnt any reason to be doing more than 10 mph. Kids will run out from between the cars no matter how much you tell them not to and having witnessed some cars burning up the cul de sac theres no way they'd be able to stop. it may add 10 secs onto your journey but surely its worth it. cheers
