Possible Bogus Salesman.
Last night (thur 19.03.09) My wife answered the door to a young man (early twenties) who flashed an ID with the company name TALK TALK. He asked to come & check our phone line as their had been some changes made at the exchange. He was politely informed that we were not TALK TALK customers . However for some reason he still wanted to enter the house. This was refused , and he had the door closed on him.
My wife then phoned TALK TALK who could find no record of any of their staff in our area last night. She then phoned the Police who visited later and took a statement. They informed her that two other people had also reported similar visits.
Please be vigilant. It may only be a poor sales ploy. But you never know.
If in doubt about any strange visitors, do not hesitate to call Alloa Police Station.

They're Back....
Talk Talk have just went Chap Chap at my door again (OK, they rang the bell, but there was two chaps there this time
).
Seems to have been the same older/accented guy that was going around last week as below, but he had a young guy in tow with him, training apparently.
He was well aware of last week's incidents when I mentioned this and he says that that caller has now been fired, and he had spoken to the Police to explain themselves, and this was why he they were travelling in packs now.
So Eddie, as you thought, looks like this was just a 'poor sales ploy' right enough.

I chased this guy too, wasn't letting him in to probe around my BT Box.
He got a bit flustered when I started questioning him about what he was saying Talk Talk were going to be doing and it was him himself that walked off without pushing any further sales talk.
Worth keeping an eye out though, cheers for the heads-up Eddie.

hey guys, i had a sales guy at my door too but he was an old guy with an accent. He flashed a badge at me and started asking about phone lines i asked who he was and he said talk talk, ive been wae talk talk before and i find their practices somewhat laking so i told him to go away. I didnt give him a chance to saying anything else, but he went away without and arguement ( i was quite disappointed as i was in a mood that nite lol )
